My name Is Shahar Harat and I’m an enthusiast landscape photographer based in Israel.

I have always loved taking photos while traveling or vacationing. I was looking at professional photos from the same places I have visited and did not understand why my photos don’t look as good and wondered what manipulations they have made to the images to make them look that good. I knew I had a hidden talent but something was missing to take it to the next level.

For my 44th birthday, my wife Irit, who was aware of my frustrations, surprised me with a 101 photography course, a whole new world revelived to me, the techniques behind the scenes and the entire set of decisions making process prior to pressing the shutter button.

​

Taking a photo is the very last step of creating the image, artistic decisions, composing, understanding the light, all of these are crucial to the creating process.

Since then, I kept investing and educating myself in outdoor workshops, training courses and gear. The learning process is never ending one and every time I go back from a photoshoot I learn something new.

My love is Landscape Photography, being out in nature capturing the beauty of our planet during the most beautiful time of day or night is so rewarding and satisfying.

My photos are taken during dedicated photography trips with fellow photographers as well as family or couple vacations.

On this website I want to take you with me to a trip around the world and share with you the scenes I have viewed and how they looked through my lens.
